[ allura and keith are here. they're in johto, still living their best lives, just as she'd hoped. a part of her was worried that they'd disappeared, but they haven't. they're here, and they can all be together again.
she happily takes burger into her arms. morpeko turns back to full belly mode to give romelle a happy nuzzle, which she returns before putting her morpeko on her shoulder.
then, she looks at her friends, extends her arms, and pulls them both into a group hug. ]
I'm back!
[ yeaaaah, not letting go anytime soon! though she will turn to allura, tears welling up in her eyes as she looks over at her long lost friend. she's still hugging keith too, but she just needs...a moment. ]
[ Allura lets Romelle pull her into the hug, wrapping her own arms around the both of them and squeezing tight. Seeing Romelle's tears, she guesses at their meaning and presses a warm kiss to her friend's cheek. ]
Welcome back. We've been waiting for you. Your pokemon, too.
[ it's so good to see allura again, vibrant and bright and alive. allura deserves this second chance at life, and romelle finally understands the reasoning behind what happened -- the impact of allura's sacrifice. romelle smiles fondly at her, not bothering to wipe away the tears that streak down her face. momentarily, she lets go of keith. ]
Apologies, Keith, but I need to do something.
[ and so she does. she leans in and hugs allura tightly. burger joins in by nuzzling allura's shoulder, too. ]
[ If she hadn't been sure before, she is now. There's no doubt that Romelle had survived Allura's death, living on into the future of their world. She knows that it was worth it, to keep everyone else alive. It was worth it, but that doesn't make it less sad.
She holds Romelle tight, rubbing her back in a comforting gesture. ]
I'm here. I'm here and I'm just fine. It's all right.
[after being pulled into a group hug a little unexpectedly, he steps back to watch romelle and allura. her reaction to the princess hasn't exactly escaped his notice either, though he can't quite place exactly how far romelle is in the timeline past allura's sacrifice yet.]
If the two of you need to talk privately, I can step outside for a bit.
[one way or another though, the reminder of allura's death has him placing his hand on the princess's shoulder and giving it a gentle squeeze. he won't say it out loud, but he suspects romelle isn't the only one who could use the reassurance.]
[ She gives her fellow Altean a tight hug, sighing softly. It's sobering to think that there will never be a weeklong sleep for her, full of new knowledge and experiences. But she won't let that thought dampen the mood now. ]
How are you feeling? Hungry? Thirsty? Can I get anything for you?
[He returns the hug when pulled back into one. Regardless of all the questions he now has, it's a relief to have Romelle back on her feet.]

[He knew there wasn't much of a need to worry considering his own experience with these week long comas, but there's really not a whole lot to learn about back home that's good news either. He's still wondering just how recent the worst of those memories must be for her, but he figures she'll bring it up of her own accord eventually.]
You should sit. Fortunately there isn't a whole lot that's happened while you were asleep. It's mostly been quiet around here.
[Mostly. God knows Burger and Princess were kind of a handful though.]
[ her stomach grumbles loudly. right on cue. she looks a little sheepishly at allura, though who can blame her? ] Maybe something to eat?
[ she does take keith's suggestion though and moves to sit on the couch. it's a relief to hear that things have been quiet. she'd been worried that she'd missed out on something important or would wake up to another catastrophe like keith did. she's thankful that isn't the case. ]
